Our Schools and Nurseries
We currently have two primary schools with attached nurseries in Manchester – Longsight Community Primary in Longsight and Unity Community Primary in Cheetham Hill.
Our schools build relationships with children and families at the earliest point. Longsight Community Primary offers a 0 to 11 model, whilst Unity Community Primary supports children aged 2years to 11years. They do this by working in partnership with children centres, nurseries and other services including birth registration, midwifery, and early help. This gives us the opportunity to support school readiness years before a child joins our schools.
We take a whole family approach to ensure the best outcomes for our children and young people. Our schools and nurseries help parents to support their child’s learning in the home. We employ family support and community engagement staff to support families to overcome barriers and take opportunities to improve their, and their children’s, lives.
We believe excellent teaching and emotional and mental wellbeing lead to the best start in life for children. We always have the highest educational aspirations and employ staff committed to achieving this for our children. We have developed a bespoke emotional wellbeing program for our children and families (with Manchester University) which builds resilience.
