Sayeeda Chowdhury (Member)

Sayeeda Chowdhury (Saki), MBE became a member of Big Life Schools on 16 January 2023.

I came to England in the late 1970s, having completed my Masters degree in Sociology. My background meant that I always had the desire to work within the community.

I have been working with Sure Start and the Big Life Group for many years.  I have also been involved in many research projects with Manchester university. Both the Big Life Group and Sure Start have given me a platform to help the community which is something that has always been in my blood. I have a passion to empower and help others especially children and families.  I received an MBE for my work with children and families in 2012 as well as several local awards. I feel that this award is not just for me but also for the entire Sure Start and Big Life family.
